In the book The Secret, this has become a worldwide phenomenon teaching people how to manifest their deepest desires. The book explains that what we think about is what we attract into our lives. While many of us have struggled to create the life that we want, these so called “secrets” seem to be second nature to some of our greatest heroes. Are they using The Secret to attract greatness and success into their lives? Do they know something that we don’t? Let’s explore the life of one of our favorite heroes and see if we can find the deeper meaning behind his tale.
In the story of One Piece, a boy named Monkey D. Luffy is determined to become the King of the Pirates. Throughout his journey, Luffy comes face to face with great challenges and obstacles that seem too big to conquer and nevertheless Luffy prevails. So what is his secret? How does he continue to beat the odds and move closer to his dream of becoming the King of the Pirates? Luffy uses Law of Attraction.
The main underlying principle of the Law of Attraction is that what you think about you attract into your life. So what does Luffy think about? Besides meat, Luffy pretty much only thinks about his friends and his goals. Luffy does not waste time and energy thinking about what he does not want therefore he only attracts the things that he does want. Luffy wants to be the King of the Pirates and with that dream comes a lot of hardship and struggle; the Straw Hats are constantly targeted by rival pirates and the Navy of the World Government. Luffy only thinks about winning against his enemy - whether he is fighting with the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the Four Emperors, or a devastating Buster Call.
Affirmations is a powerful way to essentially brainwash your mind into thinking the way you want and to manifest your dreams. Luffy is a hardcore practitioner of affirmations. For example, Luffy says “I'll kick your ass” regardless of the circumstances, multiple times over and over again. He also never leaves the door open for failure by saying “I may”, or “I want to”, it's always “I will”. The utter confidence that Luffy radiates is contagious and he has attracted an amazing crew along his journey.
The Straw Hat Pirates have absolute trust that their Captain will overcome any obstacle and they support him to no end. The second principle of the Law of Attraction is having faith that you will achieve and attract your desires. Luffy and his crew have a deep faith in each other which feeds the attraction of their desires. The one and only time that faith was lost amongst the crew was when they were faced with the Warlord Bartholomew Kuma on Sabaody Archipelago, leading to their defeat and were scattered across the Grand Line thus receiving what was manifested.
In the book The Secret, after asking the universe for what you want and having complete faith that it will manifest you have to feel as though it is done and receive your blessing. Receiving the goodness and joy of accomplishing a goal or task is one of the most important steps and The Straw Hat Pirates are stellar examples of this practice. After every victory they celebrate with a banquet and spreads joy to those they have helped. There is a lot to be learned from Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates about attracting your deepest desires into your life. Start today and follow the example of one of the greatest pirate crews of all time. State your wish, believe that it will come true, and most importantly have a banquet!
